Hidden Features - You Easy Guide to

Did you know your Suzuki isn't just packed with lots of safety features as standard but there are some hidden tips and tricks to your car? Probably the biggest hidden feature is the readability of each Suzuki, not only are they one of the most reliable cars on the road in 2026 but the readability is backed up by the industry leading 10 Year Warranty.

So what else can Suzuki squeeze in to their cars in terms of hidden features? Some are basic, such as finding your physical key and some are features that can be changed such as lights, door unlocking and charging ports.

Key Fob

New Suzuki cars come with keyless entry and driving but don't let the fob fool you, you still have a physical key should the battery go dead.

On the rear of the key, above the S on the right hand side you will see a little switch, push this over to the right whilst pulling up on the metal tab on top of the key, et voila! Here is your key.

That's great, but my car won't drive? It will, don't panic. Open your door using the key (yes there is a key-hole on door handle!) Once inside, hold your fob up to the start/stop button and start your car. Then have your key checked with us, we can replace any low and depleted batteries and look at any issues you are having with your key fob.

Steering Wheel

So we all know how to move the steering column up and down, but did you also know it can move in and out as well? This helps adjust the steering distance to suit your arm and leg length. So move the seat back so your leg length is accommodated and then adjust the wheel height and distance so you are really sitting pretty!

How? Under your wheel there is a lever for the steering wheel. Push this down and it releases your wheel making it free to move to an extent. This lets you now move it up or down a certain amount and it also lets you move it fully in towards the dash or move it out more towards you. It can change your entire drive by reducing strain on your arms and legs! Trust us, we have some very tall and some not so very tall people here and moving between the cars lets us adjust the cars to a more comfortable driving position!

Dash Display

So this is the dash between your ODM and Speed dials. You have a digital display that shows a display these below πŸ‘‡πŸ»

But this display can be changed, showing you a whole host of new things! So first up, the main display page shows you exactly which one of your rear passengers are not buckled up. If you have 2 people in the rear and only the driver rear passenger disappears from the display your rear passenger side is not buckled up. A handy feature especially when travelling with kids. This main page also shows you how far you are getting to the gallon. Yes, it's Ireland and we travel in litres and Kms (sometimes!) but still good to know. But below this, it shows the range you have left before you need to top up. Now word of warning, this will change in terms of distance to refuel depending on your driving style. So if you are not being economical in your driving, such as higher gears, heavy braking etc you will burn through this amount in a shorter distance. So look to the cars display when it suggests a gear change, your on board computer is calculating how to maximise your fuel range.

Another screen shows your driving time, while another lets you see exactly how long you have been sitting doing a whopping 0KM/h on the M50 πŸ₯³

There are additional screens that show you your motion, this is to do with the G Force of movement. So if you break the circles to the rear will light up. The heavier the breaking the more G Force exerted etc.

And remember the displaced power of your braking is charging your mild hybrid battery using Suzukis Hybrid Technology. But heavy breaking is not the answer to getting a power boost! Not only are you placing strain on the braking system and using more fuel you are also not driving suitable to the conditions. Heavy breaking is different to emergency braking where you need to stop urgently because ie: A child has run out on to the road. You is also car assisted in modern cars where your cars AEB (advanced emergency braking) system has been triggered and your car uses maximum force to bring the car to a stop to help avoid a collision. Heavy braking, which is the deliberate action caused by pressing the brake pedals to slow the car down fast, implies you are too close to the car in front, remember the 2 second rule to keep you an others safe on the roads. More information on safety systems and vehicle safety can be found here on the RSA website

Another screen shows the relationship between engine, motor and also the battery charge so you can see how your (safe) driving is charging the battery as you drive.
